ANALOG DESIGN PROFICIENCY – HIGHLIGHTS FROM SIEMENS TRAINING
The ‘Analog Design Fundamentals using Siemens Analog Design Flow’ training session was held from 27 February to 29 February. Organized by Emerald Systems Sdn. Bhd., the event was led by Ahmed Nour from Universlink Integrated Solutions. The training was participated by 6 staff members of Faculty of Engineering and Computing namely Dr. Nur Dalila binti Rizuan, Dr. Norhayati binti Mohd Zainee, Dr. Nurul Atiqah Bt Ahmad, Asst. Prof. Ir. Dr. Tay Ching En Marcus, Dr. Mas Izzati Binti Fazin and Foo Choon How.
During the training, participants delved into essential topics such as current sources, single-ended amplifiers, fundamentals of differential amplifiers, operational transconductance amplifiers, operational amplifiers, and bias cells. They were equipped with the necessary skills to effectively utilize industry-standard IC design tools in teaching and learning environment.
Through hands-on sessions, participants learned to design circuits using Pyxis analog design manager, enabling them to create schematics, symbols, and test benches. They gained proficiency in conducting AC, DC, and transient sweeps, noise analysis, as well as utilizing tools like EzWave calculator for data processing and Waveforms extract for further analysis. Additionally, they acquired knowledge on parametric sweeps, process corners, and Monte Carlo simulations.
This training session provided valuable insights and practical experience for staff members of the Faculty of Engineering and Computing. It ensures that they are adept in utilizing state-of-the-art tools for teaching and learning purposes.
