Foundation in Engineering Science & Technology Programme Objective, Structure and Pathways<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

First City UC students can expect to master the basic principles of engineering, science and technology by the end of this one-year programme (three semesters).<\/p>\n

During Foundation classes they will also be educated on the social and ethical implications in the field of science, engineering and technology.<\/p>\n

\u8be5\u8bfe\u7a0b\u63d0\u4f9b\u5b66\u751f\u575a\u5b9e\u7684\u5de5\u7a0b\u6216\u7535\u8111\u65b9\u9762\u7684\u57fa\u7840\u4e0e\u6280\u80fd\u3002\u6b64\u8bfe\u7a0b\u4e13\u6ce8\u7279\u5b9a\u79d1\u76ee\uff0c\u786e\u4fdd\u5b66\u751f\u5b66\u4e60\u7279\u5b9a\u79d1\u76ee\u4e8e\u786e\u4fdd\u4ed6\u4eec\u671d\u5411\u83b7\u53d6\u5de5\u7a0b\u6216\u7535\u8111\u4e13\u4e1a\u8d44\u683c\u4e4b\u8def\u53d1\u5c55\u3002\u4ed6\u4eec\u4e5f\u83b7\u5f97\u76f8\u5173\u7684\u5de5\u4e1a\u786c\u4ef6\u548c\u5fc5\u8981\u7684\u8f6f\u4ef6\u57f9\u8bad\uff0c\u4e3a\u5347\u4e0a\u5de5\u7a0b\u6216\u7535\u8111\u5b66\u58eb\u5b66\u4f4d\u8bfe\u7a0b\u505a\u597d\u5145\u5206\u51c6\u5907\u3002<\/p>\n

The Foundation in Engineering Science & Technology Programme objectives are to:
\n\u786e\u4fdd\u5b66\u751f\u62e5\u6709\u575a\u5b9e\u7684\u5206\u6790\u6280\u672f\uff0c\u8bbe\u8ba1\u6d41\u7a0b\u548c\u5b66\u4e60\u6280\u5de7\u7684\u57fa\u7840\uff0c\u7ee7\u800c\u987a\u5229\u5730\u5347\u4e0a\u5de5\u7a0b\u6216\u7535\u8111\u5b66\u58eb\u5b66\u4f4d\u8bfe\u7a0b\u3002<\/p>\n

  1. \u4e3a\u5b66\u751f\u63d0\u4f9b\u5de5\u7a0b\u3001\u7406\u79d1\u53ca\u79d1\u6280\u65b9\u9762\u7684\u57fa\u7840\u77e5\u8bc6\u3002<\/li>\n
  2. \u57f9\u517b\u5b66\u751f\u521b\u610f\u6027\u89e3\u51b3\u95ee\u9898\u7684\u80fd\u529b\u3002<\/li>\n
  3. \u5411\u5b66\u751f\u704c\u8f93\u5de5\u7a0b\u3001\u7406\u79d1\u53ca\u79d1\u6280\u5e94\u7528\u4e8e\u793e\u4f1a\u548c\u9053\u5fb7\u7684\u5f71\u54cd<\/li>\n
  4. \u57f9\u80b2\u5b66\u751f\u7ec8\u8eab\u5b66\u4e60\u76f8\u5173\u7684\u6280\u80fd<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In addition, the programme aims to equip students with interpersonal and communication skills in a group working environment, which is especially important as they will need to familiarise themselves with assignments in a lab setting during their Bachelor Degree studies.<\/p>\n

    Furthermore, students are taught problem-solving skills and are able to attend talks by industry experts<\/p>\n

    In order to to hone their problem-solving skills, they will be given scenarios that will require critical thinking skills. Starting from the second semester, students will be given the option of choosing the Engineering or Computing pathway.<\/p>\n

    Those who choose the Engineering pathway will be exposed to subjects such as Mechanics, Applied Physics and Engineering Mathematics while the Computing pathway offers subjects such as Software Design Techniques, Systems Analysis and Design and Web Design.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Pathway into Engineering Degree Programmes<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

    At the end of the foundation programme, students who have chosen to specialise in the Engineering pathway may opt for Bachelor Degree programmes such as the:<\/p>\n
      \n
    1. Bachelor of Electronic Engineering with Honours<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Students will be registered with the Institute of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). Also, students will undergo internships where they will gain hands-on experience.<\/p>\n

      The curriculum for the 4-year engineering degree programmes at First City UC has been developed and approved by the\u00a0Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM)<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)<\/a>\u00a0which will lead to a professional engineer status.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Pathway into Computing Degree Programmes<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      On the other hand, those who selected the Computing pathway may choose between these Bachelor Degree programmes below: The quality of these programmes are assured as they are validated and recognised by their UK partner Teesside University.<\/p>\n

      1. Bachelor of Software Engineering (Hons)<\/a><\/li>\n
      2. Bachelor of Computer Science ( Intelligent Systems) (Hons)<\/a><\/li>\n
      3. Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) in Business Management<\/a><\/li>\n
      4. Bachelor of Information Technology (Networking & Security) (Hons)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Moreover, students will be pleased to know that First City UC has a proven track record of producing highly employable graduates for nearly 30 years. Even better, many have secured jobs even before graduation.<\/p>\n

        This distinction is credited to FEC\u2019s links with a number of reputable industry partners. Banking on these valuable partnerships, the Faculty is able to connect students with potential employers during events such as Career Day and graduation showcases.<\/p>\n

        One of these showcases is the annual Innovation Day which attracted industry partners such as IBM, Silverlake, Hitachi, NEM and Fujitsu.<\/p>\n
