Values determine the future.\u201d\u00a0 This quote embodies everything First City University College aspires to be: producing quality graduates who are able to create innovative design and add value to people\u2019s lives and the world around them. The institution takes pride in its design programmes that offer holistic design education &#8211; \u00a0combining its experience in running UK franchised programmes for over 20 years, harnessing on the vast knowledge and teaching ability of its academic staff and complementing it with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment such as 3D printers, laser cutter and Macintosh laboratories.<\/p>\n<p>At the Faculty of Design and Built Environment, First City UC offers\u00a0<strong>Foundation in Art &amp; Design<\/strong>\u00a0programme with pathways to pursue further undergraduate studies\u00a0<strong>in Graphic Design, Interior Architecture and Design and Furniture and Product Design<\/strong>. During the one-year programme, students will be exposed to a general art and design education to enable them to gain experience and knowledge in practical studio work, 2D and 3D design, research and writing skills for design. The modules are specially-crafted so as to develop student\u2019s skills on visual analysis, fundamental drawing, colour studies, research and critical writing skills. Once they complete the course, they would be able to start Year 1 of the degree programme of their choice.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, students with strong interest and inclination for art and design can opt to pursue specialised two-year diploma programmes in\u00a0<strong>Interactive Design<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Interior Design<\/strong>. Upon graduation, they possess an advanced standing to continue to Year 2 of any design degree programme at First City UC.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-src=\"https:\/\/firstcity.edu.my\/media\/uploads\/media\/fad_-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"307\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 460px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 460\/307;\" \/><noscript><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/firstcity.edu.my\/media\/uploads\/media\/fad_-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"307\" \/><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p><em>Collaboration with organisations such as Kuala Lumpur-Selangor Furniture Industry Association (KLSFIA) ensures students are kept up-to-date with the current industry trends, needs and demands.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strong Industry Collaboration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The faculty is well-known for its collaboration with reputable university in the United Kingdom and strong industrial linkages which provide real-life experience in the industry in its effort to provide the best learning experience for students, allowing them to explore and work on actual projects outside the usual theatre lectures. For example, the Graphic Design department arranges annual overseas design study trip during which students participate in workshops conducted by the host universities. Students\u2019 experience is enhanced through participation in competitions both locally and internationally, where they have emerged as regular winners of design awards and accolades such as the MIID Reka Awards, Nippon Paint\u2019s Asia Young Designer Award and many more.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Zero Fees to start Foundation studies<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Students who wish to pursue the foundation programme can take advantage of the\u00a0<strong>All-in-1-Package<\/strong>\u00a0offer whereby if they register for any foundation programmes at First City UC and commit to continue with bachelor\u2019s degree at the institution, they would be able to start their foundation classes with\u00a0<strong>ZERO tuition fees\u00a0<\/strong>for the first semester.
