One of the most sought-after career paths being considered by high school leavers within tertiary education is in the field of business. Studies have shown that Sales & Marketing, Accounting and Engineering fields are the top 3 specialisations in high demand, with the former two being the most popular programmes being pursued. A foundation and diploma programme will give the graduates and emerging professionals a solid foundation and the training needed to help them excel in working in the competitive business world.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First City University College\u2019s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences offers\u00a0Foundation in Business Administration\u00a0<\/strong>with pathways to pursue business related disciplines (Accounting & Finance, Business Management and Marketing) and social sciences programmes (Hospitality & Tourism Management and Mass Communication). During the one-year programme, students study the principles of business to acquire basic knowledge and skills they can expand on during further studies at undergraduate level. Once they complete the course, they would be able to start Year 1 of the degree programme of their choice. Students who have passed this foundation programme may also pursue Bachelor of Information Systems (Hons) in Business Management offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Computing.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, students who already have a clear interest in the field of business and social sciences can opt to pursue specialised two-year diploma programmes in Business Administration, Hospitality & Tourism Management and Mass Communication. Upon graduation, students possess an advanced standing to continue to Year 2 of a related degree programme at First City UC.<\/p>\n

Pathway to Dual Award and Homegrown Degree Programmes<\/strong><\/p>\n

First City UC currently offers specially-crafted degree programmes to respond to the needs and demands of both the local and global industry which will enhance the employability of its graduates. Four of its degree programmes, namely BA (Hons) Business Management, BSc (Hons) Accounting & Finance, BA (Hons) Marketing and Master of Business Administration (MBA) are offered in collaboration with the institution\u2019s longstanding United Kingdom partner university, the Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). This university is well regarded for its quality teaching and support, and is one of the largest universities in the East of England with 35,000 students from 177 countries. ARU was named \u201cone of the top 350 institutions in the world and joint 38th best in the UK\u201d by the Times Higher Education\u2019s (THE) World University Rankings 2016. The Lord Ashcroft International Business School (LAIBS) at ARU is ranked among the top 50 Business Schools in Accounting and Finance in the UK, according to the 2017 UK Guardian League Table report.<\/p>\n

Students who pursue these programmes will receive two degree certificates; one from First City UC and one from ARU. This dual award mode will provide them with recognition and validation from two higher education providers, giving them the edge which will set them apart from their peers.<\/p>\n

In May 2017, the faculty will be launching a brand new homegrown degree, BA (Hons) Mass Communication and will be rolling out a bachelor\u2019s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the end of the year as pathways from its existing Diploma programmes in the same field of study respectively.<\/p>\n

Zero Fees to start Foundation studies<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students who wish to pursue the foundation programme can take advantage of the\u00a0All-in-1-Package<\/strong>\u00a0offer whereby if they register for any foundation programmes at First City UC and commit to continue with bachelor\u2019s degree at the institution, they would be able to start their foundation classes with\u00a0ZERO tuition fees\u00a0<\/strong>for the first semester. On top of that, First City UC will further give a\u00a030% discount*<\/strong>\u00a0off the first semester\u2019s tuition fees when the student continue their degree programmes after completing the foundation courses.<\/p>\n

For diploma programmes, students can enjoy the\u00a0Early Bird 30% waiver<\/strong>* off their tuition fees if they register with First City UC now.<\/p>\n
