UNLOCKING THE SECRETS OF SUCCESSFUL ADVERTISING: A VISIT TO HAVAS GROUP MALAYSIA<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

The field trip to Havas Group Malaysia, organized by the Design Department of the Faculty of Design & Built Environment at First City University College on 23 October 2023, was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the 28 students who had the privilege of attending. The field trip, joined by four faculty members Michael Goh Suk Keat (Lead), Assistant Professor Arthur Liaw, Tang Chui Yee, and Rubiana Choong, was an educational journey that provided invaluable insights into the world of creative advertising.<\/p>\n

Mr. Donevan Chew, the Chief Creative Officer of Havas Group Malaysia, graciously hosted the visit and shared his wealth of experience with the students. His engaging presentation on various case studies from the advertising industry illuminated the strategies and dynamics behind successful campaigns, leaving the students inspired and well-informed.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the most cherished aspect of the visit was Mr. Donevan Chew’s candid advice to the students. He offered a glimpse into the challenges and rewards of the advertising and design industry, emphasizing the importance of creativity, teamwork, adaptability, and staying updated with industry trends. His words of wisdom, including the mantra “You\u2019ve got to punch above your weight,” resonated deeply with the aspiring designers.<\/p>\n

The visit also held a special surprise, as some of the faculty staff were reunited with their former student, Shireen Ang, who now serves as the Creative Director at Havas Group Malaysia.<\/p>\n

The trip to Havas Group Malaysia served as a pivotal step in preparing the students for successful careers in the creative advertising and design industry.
