On 6 October 2025, the First City University College Library successfully completed its Table Puzzle Challenge, an interactive community activity that brought students together to finish a stunning 1,000-piece \u201cKoi Fish\u201d jigsaw puzzle. The challenge began on 14 August, marking nearly two months of effort, patience and creativity.<\/p>
Students from various faculties stopped by the puzzle table in the Library to contribute a few pieces \u2014 some stayed for minutes, others for hours. Together, they gradually pieced together a vivid image of koi fish, symbolising perseverance and harmony. The activity fostered collaborative problem-solving, focus, and stress relief \u2014 valuable soft skills that complement academic learning. It also created a social space where students could unwind between classes and connect with peers from different programmes.<\/p>
For many participants, the experience was both enjoyable and rewarding. Teoh Jol Min from the Bachelor Of Arts (Honours) Graphic Design programme, shared that it was \u201ca very good experience\u201d and that she \u201chad fun playing and completing the puzzle.\u201d She added that while it was challenging at first, teamwork made it possible to see the puzzle through to completion. Similarly, Li Hui Chi, from the same programme, remarked that she \u201cloved playing puzzles\u201d and \u201ccouldn\u2019t resist stopping to fit in a few pieces\u201d whenever she passed by the table, finding it satisfying \u201cto see how the picture slowly came together over time.\u201d<\/p>
