Students Gain Early Exposure on Fashion Marketing

40 SPM school leavers from SMK Taman Ehsan, Kepong had their first exposure on fashion marketing when they visited First City University College on 15 March 2023.

Accompanied by their two teachers, the students participated in the BFM Fashion Exposure Workshop conducted by the faculty team of our BA (Hons) in Fashion Marketing programme who included Programme Coordinator Travis Tan and lecturer Sharifah Mazwari.

The main aim of the workshop was to provide the students with an overview of what fashion industry was all about and for them to gain some exposure on fashion marketing.

During the workshop, students worked in groups to draw and design the motifs of a sneaker image, after which they had to come up with a ‘marketing’ strategy to promote their sneakers. The workshop also provided opportunities for the students to sharpen their presentation skills, an essential skill in the fashion industry.

It was a fulfilling experience for the students to be given such an exposure. The workshop would surely inspire them to pursue their interests in fashion marketing in the future.
