Orientation October 2021

On 18 October 2021, First City UC reopened its doors to students after more than 4 months of lockdown.
A cheerful and friendly sign stating “We Are Ready to Welcome You” was posted at the main campus entrance to welcome new and returning students. It was truly an amazing sight to see the students on campus again! The students were extremely excited to be back on campus as well as they finally got to meet their lecturers and friends in person. The campus was buzzing with activity.
An orientation session was held to welcome the new students. The attendees consisted of new students, who had enrolled for the Diploma programmes for the October 2021 Intake. The lively session, which commenced at 10.00am was conducted using a hybrid mode, whereby students attended the session online or physically. After a warm welcome message by the management team of First City UC, students were briefed on how to access and use the student e-learning portal, library as well as IT facilities.
Students were given the opportunity to get to know each other through the ice-breaking session. A campus tour was conducted to familiarise the new students with our state-of-the-art facilities, including classrooms, lecture theatres, cafeteria, and indoor sports complex. Before the session ended students were introduced to their respective programme coordinators who briefed them on their arrangements for classes and their class schedules.
As First City UC is committed to ensuring a safe and successful learning environment and experience for all students, both online and hybrid sessions will continue to be offered as learning options to meet the evolving needs of students during this transitional period.
First City UC has taken strict measures to keep everyone in the campus community as well as visitors safe during this pandemic. Prior to reopening, we ensured that all the staff members and students are fully vaccinated before returning to the campus. All SOPs are strictly adhered to on the campus.
