FIRST CITY UNIVERSITY COLLEGE CELEBRATES STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS IN STUDENT AWARDS CEREMONY

The Student Awards Ceremony held on Wednesday, 24 April 2024 at the First City Hall, was a resounding celebration of achievement and excellence, honouring the remarkable accomplishments of 167 outstanding students across various faculties and disciplines.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including First City University College’ Director Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Teo Chiang Liang, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Saw Sor Heoh, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dr. Hing Hiang Lian, Senior Registrar Lye Booh Han, and the Faculty Deans, each playing pivotal roles in acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the students.

The proceedings commenced with an inspiring opening address by Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Teo Chiang Liang, setting the tone for the event and emphasizing the significance of recognizing and celebrating academic and extracurricular accomplishments.

Throughout the ceremony, faculty representatives took to the stage to present awards to deserving recipients from the three faculties, namely, Faculty of Design & Built Environment, Faculty of Business, Hospitality & Communication, and Faculty of Computer Science & Technology. The recognition extended beyond academic excellence to include extracurricular achievements, study awards, and foundation programme graduates.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Best Student Awards, where Yaashhinii a/p Krishnan was nominated for her outstanding performance in foundation studies and Lee Zhi Guan, for excellence in industry-based competitions. These awards underscored the exceptional talent and dedication exemplified by the two recipients.
