MYRA 2024 – A WORKSHOP FOR STRENGTHENING RESEARCH AUDITS
On 15 May 2024, a team of faculty members and staff from First City University College; Ms. Marsitee binti Endut, Asst. Prof. Ir. Dr. Tay Ching En Marcus, Asst. Prof. Saraswathy a/p Rengasamy, Dr. Ahmad Faris Naqiyuddin bin Mohd Ghazi, Ms. S Komlavathi A/P Subramaniam, Dr. Nur Dalila binti Rizuan and Assoc. and Prof. Azali Bin Abd Rahim virtually attended ‘Bengkel Latihan Juruaudit Dalam MyRA 2024’ organised by Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education at the Centre of Postgraduate Studies. The workshop also ran simultaneously at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia which were attended by Mr Lye Boon Han and Ms Yong Jing Yii.
The workshop was delivered by YBrs. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hamiruce bin Marhaban (UPM), YBrs. Prof. Dr. Phua Kia Kien (USM), YBrs. Prof. Dr. Ismanizan Ismail (UKM) YBrs. Prof. Dr. Mohd Ambri bin Mohamed (UKM) Prof. Dr. Saiful Anuar Bin Karsani (UM) and YBrs. Prof. Lee Keat Teong (USM).
The workshop aimed to update participants on the latest MyRA internal audit procedures, define the MyRA glossary, maintain data and evidence for audits, and provide feedback on the glossary. Key topics included the importance of increasing PhD holders for national innovation, the vision, mission, and goals of research universities, and the ethics of internal auditors. Detailed discussions covered the use of the eMyRA system, interpreting audit reports, and common error messages.
Overall, the ‘Bengkel Latihan Juruaudit Dalam MyRA 2024’ was a success, providing participants with the knowledge and skills needed to enhance the quality and effectiveness of MyRA internal audits. The training emphasized the importance of continuous improvement and collaboration in fostering a good research ecosystem in Malaysia.
