This programme aims to produce designers that are able to meet the changing and evolving needs of the profession today. The programme develops students’ creativity by providing them with the technical and theoretical knowledge required for them to thrive in this industry.


Students are given the opportunity to explore and innovate in the field of both product and furniture design through constant collaboration with industry players. Live projects provide students with actual industry experience.


The students’ exploration on various materials and manufacturing technique is married with a strong emphasis and understanding on user-centred design – ensuring that their designs are always underpinned by social, cultural and ethical sensitivities.

Learning Outcome

Graduates of this programme should be able to:


  • Exhibit creativity and show a personal aesthetic sensitivity through his/ her design
  • Apply self-management techniques, independent study and explore within the context of ambiguity, uncertainty and unfamiliarity
  • Demonstrate the ability for critical engagement and formulate independent judgements through exploration of design

Minimum 2Cs with credit in Malay Language and a pass in English in SPM

Pass with minimum CGPA 2.0


Pass with minimum CGPA 2.0 in Diploma in Interior Design / Art and Design / Design / Multimedia Design / Interior and Architecture / Furniture and Product Design or Its equivalent


Other equivalent qualifications which are recognized by the Malaysian government
