TRANSFORMATIVE TEACHING: INTERACTIVE DISPLAYS TRAINING FOR THE FACULTY

In a dynamic move towards integrating cutting-edge technology into teaching methodologies, the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at First City University College orchestrated a workshop titled “Using Interactive Displays in Teaching and Learning.”

Held on 15 March 2024, the event saw enthusiastic participation from 17 academic staff members from the Faculty of Business, Hospitality, Communication, and the Centre for Language and Extension Service. Future workshops are underway for members of other faculties.

The workshop, meticulously curated to explore the transformative potential of interactive display technology, proved to be a resounding success. Participants delved into hands-on demonstrations, navigating interfaces, and tried their hands in crafting engaging multimedia content. A standout feature of the workshop was the demo session showcasing the Hisense GoBoard Live, a state-of-the-art interactive digital board boasting a myriad of functionalities. From its advanced 4K camera and speaker system to seamless integration with platforms like Zoom and Teams, the benefits of incorporating such technology were abundantly clear.

Participants lauded the workshop’s efficacy in fostering interactive and engaging learning experiences, echoing sentiments of increased audience engagement and enhanced content retention.
