BUILDING FOUNDATIONS – MASTERING MICROSOFT AZURE DATA FUNDAMENTALS

On 16 May 2024, two lecturers from the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology; Dr. Nur Dalila binti Rizuan and Mr. Mohammad Hafizuddin bin Ameruddin, joined an online training session on Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals organised by Emphatta Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. The objective of the training was to provide participants with foundational knowledge of core data concepts and related Microsoft Azure data services.
The session was led by Mr. Jesu Arockia Xavier, a Microsoft Certified Trainer and AWS Authorized Instructor. The topics comprised of large-scale data warehousing, real-time analytics and data visualisation. Mr. Xavier began the session by explaining the different types of data. He also discussed how AI and machine learning can be used to manage unstructured data. The afternoon session featured a hands-on lab where participants explored Azure’s Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Files, and Azure Tables. This practical segment allowed attendees to apply their newfound knowledge in a real-world context.
Dr. Nur Dalila binti Rizuan remarked, “The training is helpful for gaining foundational knowledge of core data concepts and related Microsoft Azure data services. Questions from participants were answered clearly, helping to clarify any doubts. The multiple-choice questions provided by the trainer were particularly useful.”
Mr. Mohammad Hafizuddin bin Ameruddin added, “This training is quite helpful and interesting, even though I come from an electronic engineering background. I need to learn more in future sessions, as this complex subject requires more time for me to fully understand. Overall, the training was very interesting and enjoyable.”
