FIRST CITY UNIVERSITY COLLEGE QUALITY DAY 2024

The First City University College Quality Day 2024 was held on 12 December 2024, bringing together faculty, staff, and guests to explore quality standards and best practices essential for the institution’s pursuit of excellence. The event started with a Sharing Session by Dr. Hing Hiang Lian, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, who highlighted the significance of continuous improvement and aligning academic practices with global quality standards.

Following this, the distinguished guest speaker, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanti Rosli from UKM, presented on the topic “MQF Version 2.0: Best Practices in Assessing Student Learning Outcomes.” Her session provided valuable insights into how the Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF) can be applied to enhance assessment strategies and improve student learning outcomes in higher education. Participants gained a deeper understanding of best practices in aligning curricula with MQF standards, enabling them to develop more effective assessment methods.

Professor Dr. Saw Sor Heoh, Vice-Chancellor of First City University College, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Yanti for her invaluable contribution to the event. Asst. Prof. Siti Maria Mohamad, Head of the Internal Audit Unit, Dr. Hing Hiang Lian, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, and Mr. Lye Boon Han, Senior Registrar, also took the opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding dedication of the Internal Audit Unit 2024 members by awarding them with certificates of appreciation.

Participants gained a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of how the discussed strategies and frameworks can be applied to enhance academic practices, which reinforced the institution’s commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
