AI UNLEASHED WITH ALIBABA CLOUD

In conjunction with Career and Industry Networking Day 2025, students and staff attended a career talk titled “AI Unleashed: Discover Alibaba’s Cutting-Edge Cloud AI Solutions”, held on 16 April 2025.

The session was led by Dr. Jawad Ali Shah, Senior Alibaba Cloud Training Advisor, who delivered a comprehensive overview of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and Alibaba Cloud’s advancements in large language models (LLMs) and AI tools. Attendees were introduced to key AI concepts such as foundation models, generative AI, and vision-language model capabilities, as well as Alibaba’s Qwen2.5-Max model and its real-world applications in sectors including healthcare, logistics, and education.

“I get to understand generative AI solutions, Alibaba Cloud LLMs and Alibaba Cloud Model Studios. This workshop is very useful for my course.” commented Goh En Qi from Bachelor of Computer Science (Intelligent Systems) (Honours).

Participants gained valuable insights into how AI is reshaping industries and left the session with a clearer understanding of how these technologies align with their academic and career pursuits.
