AUTUMN MEMORY – MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL CELEBRATION
On 18th September 2024, the Chinese Cultural Society organised a vibrant Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at First City University College. The event gathered staff and students for a lively evening filled with cultural performances, competitions, and a shared feast, fostering a strong sense of community and tradition.
Attendees were treated to a delightful dinner featuring a variety of mooncakes while enjoying performances such as the graceful Moon Dance and a heartfelt rendition of ‘Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin.’ VIPs and students alike participated in games and activities, creating a fun and engaging atmosphere throughout the evening.
One of the key highlights was the Lantern Making Competition, where creative entries from both staff and students were showcased. Ms. Nor Khairunnisa Bt Nazelan’s dragon lantern design earned her the top prize. The Cheongsam Catwalk Competition also captivated the audience, with Heng Jia Yu taking first place for her elegant traditional attire. Prizes were awarded to the winners, much to the delight of participants.
The evening concluded with a beautiful Lantern Parade, where attendees carried brightly lit lanterns around the campus, creating a festive and nostalgic ambiance. The event left a lasting impression, with many participants expressing their enjoyment of the cultural activities.
