Business Intelligence Workshop Prepares Students for Data-Driven Competition

The Faculty of Computer Science and Technology organised a Business Intelligence Competition workshop on 8 April 2026, bringing together students from the Foundation in Computer Science and Technology, Diploma in Information Technology, Bachelor of Information Technology (Networking and Security) (Honours), and Bachelor in Computer Science (Intelligent Systems) (Honours).
Through hands-on training using Power BI, students explored data visualisation, dashboard development, and data-driven decision-making while working collaboratively in teams. The workshop also marked the start of their competition journey, where participants will develop their projects from 9 April to 12 May 2026, leading to a final presentation on 13 May 2026.
Students found the experience valuable. Ong Yi Lyn shared, “It is a great opportunity for me to develop my skills and build my portfolio.” Loke Qin Hui added that the competition highlights “the power of informed decision-making” through data.
The workshop strengthened students’ analytical thinking and practical skills, preparing them to apply data-driven solutions with confidence as future graduates in the technology industry.
