Bytes Buzz Live! Episode 4 Explores AI in Creativity and Healthcare

The Faculty of Computer Science and Technology hosted Bytes Buzz Live! Episode 4 on 10 September 2025, streamed live from the Mass Comm Studio. With more than 360 combined views, the session highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in both creative industries and medical research.
Ts. Syahirah Binti Ibrahim opened the discussion with insights into generative AI, explaining how machines are now able to create content through large language models and other advanced systems. She emphasised both its opportunities and risks, from enabling design and innovation to producing misinformation, deepfakes, and biased outputs.
The session then shifted to healthcare, where Dr. Ridhwan Hilmi Bin Mohd Adnan demonstrated how AI can assist in predicting eye disease through image processing. By applying computer vision to extract regions of interest and training machine learning models, his work achieved more accurate classifications of eye redness severity.
Students responded positively, noting that the talks made complex topics accessible and inspired them to consider AI’s real-world applications with a critical mindset.
