Celebrating Heritage: Student Projects at Sin Sze Si Ya Temple

On 2 September 2025, students from the Faculty of Design & Built Environment (FDBE) showcased their project “ICON of HERITAGE” at the Sin Sze Si Ya Temple – Pioneers of Kuala Lumpur Museum. This event celebrated the temple’s history through creative branding, logos, and visual ideas inspired by its legacy as Kuala Lumpur’s oldest temple.
Students also displayed “Echoes of Tradition,” a visual collection created by Foundation in Art and Design (FAD) students. Their work reinterpreted the temple’s artefacts, motifs, colors, and textures using techniques like jelly plate printing and digital art, blending tradition with modern design.
The event ended with a certificate presentation from temple trustees Mr. Chau Kuet Thai and Mr. See Kam Fook. This project gave students hands-on experience and showed how design can help preserve and share cultural heritage for future generations.
