Cybersecurity Workshop Strengthens Students’ Awareness of Password Security and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)


The Faculty of Computer Science and Technology organised an ISC2 workshop on Cybersecurity: Password Security and Multi-Factor Authentication on 18 March 2026, featuring Ts. Zulhairy Zulkifly, Cyber Security Engineering Specialist from ISC2 Malaysia Chapter.
The session introduced key cybersecurity practices, including creating strong passwords and the use of multi-factor authentication (MFA), a security method that requires additional verification beyond a password to protect digital systems. Students gained practical knowledge to safeguard personal and organisational data.
Students found the workshop insightful. Loke Qin Hui shared, “Learn to create a strong password, the awareness of cybersecurity risks and the benefits of MFA.” Goh En Qi added, “By enhancing awareness and encouraging secure authentication practices, the workshop supports the development of a safer digital environment.”
The workshop strengthened students’ cybersecurity awareness and practical skills, supporting the development of responsible and industry-ready graduates.
