EMBRACING THE FUTURE WITH CONFIDENCE
At First City University College (First City UC), the emphasis on providing students with strong foundation to equip them with the necessary skills will enable them to embrace the future with confidence.
The Centre for Foundation Studies provides quality pre-university and matriculation courses. It has an excellent track record in having students accepted by reputable universities including the University of Oxford, University of Nottingham, University of Sydney.
One of the most sought after programmes at First City UC is the GCE A-Levels. Awarded by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), the programme allows students to take the entire A-Level papers in one sitting or follow a staged assessment route. Students are permitted to repeat the level to ensure that the best grades are used as the final result. They can then be accepted into Business, Hospitality, Computing or Engineering degree programmes at First City UC.
The Australian Matriculation Programme (AUSMAT), a popular pre-university programme of School Curriculum and Standards Authority, Government of Western Australia is also offered. It is a 10-month programme with the assessment comprising 50% coursework and 50% external examination, and recognised by most universities around the world—especially Australian universities—as the entry requirement to undertake degree programmes. Students who have successfully completed the AUSMAT programme are also eligible to apply for entry to the Honours degree programmes conducted at First City UC.
Students who chose the AUSMAT programme will enjoy a shorter and smarter route; standing a higher chance of getting placements in reputable universities in Australia such as University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, RMIT University, Australian National University and many others. They would also benefit from the flexible combination of subjects being offered. This is complemented by the attentiveness of experienced lecturers who are dedicated in ensuring that the students are well-prepared for the next journey in their studies.
