EXPLORING CYBERSECURITY – INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO CYBERSECURITY MALAYSIA


On 10 July, 2024, the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology organised an insightful industrial visit to Cybersecurity Malaysia. 17 students and 7 academic staff members across various programmes from the faculty were involved in the industrial visit.
The event began with a comprehensive briefing by a team of experts from Cybersecurity Malaysia. Presentations were led by Nur Arafah binti Atan, Mohamad Hafiz Bin Rahman, Ahmad Dahari bin Jarno, Shaikh Abdul Fikri Bin Shaikh Abdul Hamid, Ahmad Ridzwan bin Mohd Fathil, and Syahmi Bin Kamarul Baharin. They provided an overview of the organization’s history, its roles in digital forensics, cybersecurity professional development, and various security evaluation activities. The session also highlighted key issues related to online safety and security.
The visit included a tour of Cybersecurity Malaysia’s facilities, where participants gained practical insights into the daily operations and challenges faced by cybersecurity professionals. Students had an opportunity to learn about the importance of protecting personal and organizational data from cyber threats.
Overall, the industrial visit to Cybersecurity Malaysia provided valuable exposure to real-world cybersecurity practices, enhancing the students’ understanding of the field and preparing them for future challenges in the industry.
