Financial Literacy Competition Challenges Students to Make Smart Money Decisions

On 23 June 2026, the Student Services Department, in collaboration with One Synergy Solution and Great Eastern, organised the “Can You Survive Your First Salary?” Financial Literacy Competition & Workshop, giving students an engaging introduction to personal financial management and real-world financial decision-making. Through interactive activities and team challenges, participants experienced the financial choices and responsibilities faced by young working adults.

Students explored practical topics including budgeting, salary allocation, savings, financial planning, and responsible spending while developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills in realistic scenarios. Industry sharing sessions also provided valuable insights into building long-term financial wellbeing.

The programme empowered students to make informed financial decisions and prepare for future financial responsibilities, reflecting First City University College’s commitment to developing financially confident and career-ready graduates.
