First City University College Students Achieve Triple Win at iCAN 2026

A student team from the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology achieved international recognition at the 11th International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada (iCAN 2026), receiving a Gold Medal, Certificate of Excellence and Special Award for their project, FinGuardian AI: Smart Banking Intelligence for Risk, Retention & Customer Growth.

Developed by Goh En Qi, Danya Loo Yixuan, Howen Lim and Stephanie Hew Pui Yan, FinGuardian AI applies artificial intelligence to banking challenges involving risk, customer retention and growth. The achievement provided valuable international exposure while showcasing the students’ ability to apply emerging technology to real-world industry challenges.
