Haiku Together Mini Workshop

The Centre of Language & Extension Services conducted an in-class mini workshop titled “Haiku Together” on 28 January 2026. The session aimed to make language learning engaging while developing students’ creative writing, observation, and communication skills.
Students were first introduced to the features of haiku poetry, including the 5–7–5 syllable structure and focus on imagery. They then worked in pairs and observed their surroundings, including areas outside the classroom. After writing, students presented their haiku to the class and explained the ideas behind their poems.
The activity effectively combined creative writing, sensory awareness, and oral communication, highlighting the value of interactive learning in enhancing student engagement.
