IGNITING CREATIVE SPARKS IN MALAYSIA’S FUTURE DESIGNERS: FIRST CITY UNIVERSITY COLLEGE HOSTS 20LIMA:10 MIID STUDENTS’ SATURDAY

A ground-breaking convergence of more than 700 interior designs and interior architecture students and representatives from 20 public and private higher learning institutions across Malaysia has gathered at First City University College for the 20LIMA:10 MIID Students’ Saturday event.

20LIMA:10 MIID Students’ Saturday was a collaborative effort between the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) and the Faculty of Design & Built Environment, First City University College. The event served as a vibrant platform for interior design and interior architecture students to engage in creative competitions, and network with their peers and industry professionals.

The dazzling event was officially launched by Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Teo Chiang Liang, Board of Governors and Director of First City University College, together with the Vice-President of Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) IDr. Joe Chan Wan Hoe and Prof Dr Saw Sor Heoh, the Vice-Chancellor. Among MIID representatives present included Deputy President IDr Norshafina Ibrahim, and Council Member and 25:10 MIID Students’ Saturday Organizing Chairman IDr Mohd. Noor Ariffin.

Prof. Dr. Saw Sor Heoh expressed her excitement in hosting these aspiring designers on campus and commended the collaborative effort between First City University College’s Faculty of Design & Built Environment and MIID in ensuring the event’s success. She highlighted that the event demonstrated their commitment to fostering inter-institutional collaboration and promoting professional growth within the interior design field.

IDr. Joe Chan Wan Hoe conveyed his appreciation to First City University College and the generous sponsors, and reaffirmed MIID’s unwavering dedication to fostering the growth of interior design students. He emphasized that MIID Students’ Saturday remains an invaluable platform for this ongoing support.
