International Design Day Celebrates Creativity and Community

The Design Club from the Faculty of Design & Built Environment organised the International Design Day celebration, The Spaces in Between: Puzzle of Wishes, on 15 April 2026 at First City University College. The event brought together students from the Diploma in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Graphic Design, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fashion Marketing, and Foundation in Art & Design.

Centred on the theme The Spaces in Between, the event highlighted each student’s unique design journey while emphasising how individual experiences come together to form a shared creative identity. Through a hands-on puzzle-making activity, students expressed their thoughts visually, contributing to a collective representation of growth and creativity.

Participants shared that the session was both engaging and inspiring, fostering creativity, interaction, and a stronger sense of belonging within the design community.

The celebration strengthened students’ creative confidence and community engagement, supporting their development as collaborative and expressive design graduates.
