KL Festival 2026 Inspires Students Through Art, Storytelling, and Community Creativity

On 29 May 2026, the Design Club of the Faculty of Design & Built Environment organised an educational trip to exhibitions and a Collective Mural Activation held in conjunction with KL Festival 2026, giving students from the Diploma in Graphic Design and Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Graphic Design programmes the opportunity to experience creativity beyond the classroom.

Students explored the FUJIFILM Stories in Every Recipe exhibition and Whispering Pixels, discovering how photography, colour, and digital technology can preserve stories, memories, and cultural heritage. They later collaborated with practising artists to transform a public wall into a vibrant mural, experiencing first-hand the power of art to engage communities and shape public spaces.

Students described the experience as inspiring, interactive, and meaningful, with the opportunity to contribute to a lasting public artwork leaving a particularly memorable impression.

The educational trip strengthened students’ appreciation of visual storytelling, cultural preservation, and collaborative design while providing valuable real-world experiences that nurture creativity, professional growth, and industry readiness.
