Library Visit to KL Book Fair Inspires a Culture of Reading and Lifelong Learning

On 3 June 2026, the Library organised an educational visit to the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2026, giving students from the Diploma in Interior Design programme the opportunity to explore one of Southeast Asia’s largest literary events at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.

Surrounded by more than 1,200 booths featuring local and international publishers, students discovered a diverse range of books, ideas, and educational resources while experiencing the vibrant atmosphere of Malaysia’s premier book fair. The visit encouraged them to broaden their perspectives, cultivate reading habits, and appreciate the value of continuous learning beyond the classroom.

Students shared that the experience was both enjoyable and enriching, with many expressing their enthusiasm to participate in future library-organised book fair visits. One participant remarked that the visit strengthened her interest in reading and exposed her to a wider variety of books.

The initiative reflects First City University College’s commitment to fostering intellectual curiosity, lifelong learning, and a strong reading culture that supports students’ academic development and personal growth.
