The Student Services Department launched a recycling campaign from 19 August to 30 August, open to all staff and students of First City University College. This initiative aimed to collect recyclable items that would be donated to Lovely Disabled Home, an organisation that relies on recycling as a significant source of income. Individuals with physical and mental challenges at the home actively participated by collecting and sorting these items at their centre.

On the collection day, 4 September 2024, three staff members from Lovely Disabled Home gathered the donated items. The campaign received a variety of contributions, including paper, books, plastic containers, aluminium, toys, clothes, and even electrical appliances. The campaign notably generated an impressive number of clothing donations, primarily from hostel students and the hostel warden. Many of these items were in good condition, with some being brand new.

The contributions from both students and staff help preserve the planet and support the physically and mentally challenged members of Lovely Disabled Home, helping them in sustaining their livelihoods.
