Semarak Ramadan: Bubur Lambuk – Sharing Warmth, Spreading Blessings

On 11 March 2026, First City University College brought together staff and students to celebrate one of Malaysia’s cherished Ramadan traditions — the preparation and sharing of Bubur Lambuk.

The event began with welcoming remarks by Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Saw Sor Heoh, who reflected on Ramadan as a time of gratitude, compassion, and community. Participants also watched a short video on the history of Bubur Lambuk and joined a fun quiz session, where five lucky students received duit raya.

A highlight of the afternoon was the Live Bubur Lambuk Ceremony, where Professor Dr. Saw, together with Deans and Heads of Departments, symbolically prepared and packed the traditional porridge. Cooked with fragrant herbs, spices, and teamwork, the Bubur Lambuk was later shared with the campus community to be enjoyed during iftar.

Through moments like these, the First City community celebrates the true meaning of Ramadan — sharing warmth, strengthening bonds, and spreading blessings.
