SEPTEMBER 2025 INTAKE ORIENTATION PROGRAMME AT FIRST CITY UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

First City University College welcomed new students through its September 2025 Intake Orientation Programme, held on 29 September 2025 at the Student Services Lounge. Welcome messages were delivered by faculty representatives including Assistant Professor Chua Huwi Huwi, Dean of the Faculty of Design and Built Environment, Assistant Professor Komlavathi A/P Subramaniam, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Business, Hospitality and Communication, and Interim Dean Mr. Lye Boon Han from the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology.

The morning continued with “The Welcome Buzz” at the Performance Stage, followed by briefing sessions from Registry/PTPTN, Centre for General Studies, Student Services Department, Library Services and IT Services. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Saw Sor Heoh also addressed the new intake, encouraging students to embrace their academic journey with confidence.

In the afternoon, the Student Council Engagement Session and Campus Tour provided a lively introduction to campus life. Students were divided into five groups to design and present their flags, build wind-resistant towers, and complete a photo scavenger hunt. The session also featured a flashmob dance challenge and “Capture the Balloon” game, closing the orientation with creativity, teamwork and camaraderie.

The September 2025 Intake Orientation successfully combined formal introductions with interactive activities, ensuring students gained both practical information and meaningful connections.
