Visit to Royal Selangor Visitor Centre

On 11 March 2026, students from Design Studio 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Interior Architecture and Design programme at First City University College visited the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, accompanied by their lecturers.

The study visit provided valuable insights into material craftsmanship, spatial storytelling, and user experience design. Students explored the heritage of Royal Selangor while observing the pewter-making process, from casting to finishing, gaining a deeper understanding of material properties, detailing, and production techniques.

During the visit, students also observed how the layout of the exhibition spaces, lighting, and interactive displays guide visitors through the story of the brand while creating an engaging and educational experience.

The visit encouraged students to consider how craftsmanship, materiality, and user-centred design can be integrated into their future design projects.
