Interested SPM/O-Level achievers with the intention of entering the job market quickly should consider enrolling in either the Diploma in Graphic Design or the Diploma in Interior Design programme.
Diploma in Graphic Design
Under the supervision of highly qualified lecturers, Diploma in Graphic Design students will be trained in conceptual thinking, practical skill sets and usage of up-to-date software technologies.These include Graphic Design software such as Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator plus video editing with Premier.
Throughout the programme, students will be trained to become responsible and professional individuals, as well as team players, traits which are essential for succeeding in the Design industry.
They will be given opportunities to apply their knowledge and technical design skills with internship placement in advertising, social media marketing, packaging, publication or exhibition companies.
Diploma in Interior Design
Students who are drawn towards the intricacies of interior design may opt for the Diploma in Interior Design programme. The programme helps students develop creative solutions to design problems by applying fundamental research techniques, design thinking and effective communication skills.
Classes for this programme are multi-disciplinary as they incorporate topics from various fields such as psychology, sociology, history, management and business practices, ensuring students will well equipped when entering the workforce and primed to be future game-changers. Moreover, students of this programme will be registered with the Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID).
Besides being taught the various computer applications and software necessary for design work, students will develop the ability to work independently and in teams. This trait is crucial for them to excel within the interior design and architecture industry, where designers are expected to collaborate and work with various stakeholders and experts from other industries.
In order to maximise their industry-readiness, students will undergo internships with various interior design and architecture companies, property developers, furniture & product industries, and theatre & stage design companies. Interns who perform impressively may even be offered a full-time position upon graduation.
