CAREER & INDUSTRY NETWORKING DAY 2025 CONNECTS STUDENTS TO FUTURE PATHWAYS

The Career and Industry Networking Day 2025, held on 16 April 2025, served as a valuable platform for students of First City University College to engage directly with industry professionals and explore future pathways. The event brought together students, faculty, and industry professionals for a full day of engagement, knowledge sharing, and professional networking.

Organised annually, the event aims to equip students with essential insights, practical skills, and meaningful industry connections, all of which are crucial for navigating today’s fast-changing job market.

From career forums and industry talks to booth visits and networking sessions, the event buzzed with activity. The highlight was the panel session, “Future-Proof Careers: Jobs of Tomorrow”, featuring industry experts including Mr Aaron Lai of Polymorph, Mr Sivalingam of MSP Hitect, and Prof. Dato’ Dr. Chan of Taxman. Students also had the opportunity to explore internship offers, understand emerging technologies like Alibaba Cloud AI, and gain knowledge on intellectual property value.

Goh En Qi, a student from Bachelor of Computer Science (Intelligent Systems) (Hons) shared, “The event provided me a valuable opportunity to network with employers, explore job and internship openings, and gain insights into company cultures and industry trends.”

Pua Yong Han, from the Diploma in Graphic Design programme added, “I found the resume clinic very useful—it helped me discover my future career direction and how I can improve my resume to increase my chances of getting my dream job at my dream company.”

The event successfully bridged academic learning with industry expectations, encouraging students to take the next step in their career journeys with greater confidence.
