The Student Services Department, in collaboration with the Student Council, successfully hosted Prom Night 2024 on 5 December 2024 at the elegant Greens III Ballroom, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. The event brought together students and staff for an unforgettable evening filled with music and laughter.

The theme of the event was “Red Carpet and Masquerade”, which blends the elegance of a classic red-carpet affair with the mystique and glamour of a masquerade ball aiming to evoke a sense of sophistication and intrigue.

The evening began with opening remarks by Vanness Tay, Chairperson of the Prom Night Committee and Vice President of the Student Council, followed by an inspiring speech from Prof Dr Saw Sor Heoh, Vice-Chancellor of First City University College. Attendees were treated to spectacular performances, including a fascinating dance by the Performing Arts Club, a vocal showcase by Christella Maurice, and instrumental pieces by Paul Carlos Kerk Barot and Shim Shi Yu, setting the perfect tone for the night.

The highlight of the night was the highly anticipated announcement of the winners of the Prom King and Queen Contest, where contestants mesmerized the stage with their enthralling performances. The titles were presented to Ooi Qi Earn from the Diploma in Interior Design programme and Winnie Gwee Shi Nee from the Diploma in Graphic Design programme, while other contestants, including Ho De Zheng, Heng Jia Yu, Lee Kok Zhen, and Yu Jing Ling also delivered memorable performances, adding to the event’s excitement.

The winner of the Grand Prize, Tan Chia Jie from the Diploma in Interior Design programme walked away with a 2 Days 1 Night at One World Hotel. Other lucky draw winners received One World Hotel buffet dinner vouchers, One World Hotel teatime buffet vouchers and laptop bags.
