A XMAS CELEBRATION @ FIRST CITY UNIVERSITY COLLEGE: SPREADING LOVE AND JOY
In the festivity spirit, the Student Services Department, led by Mr. Rahula Weladavi and Teh Chia Li and members from the TECH Club warmly welcomed 22 special guests from Sweet Care Home to the Student Lounge on 19 December 2023. The group included 20 underprivileged children of different ages, along with their two supervisors, all decked out in bright red Santa Claus hats to enjoy the afternoon specially curated for them.
The festive mood continued when Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Saw Sor Heoh joined the afternoon to welcome all the guests. Members of our TECH Club then stepped in as activity facilitators and game coordinators, leading the participants in a warm-up before diving into games like treasure hunt, charades, guess the drawing, and musical chairs. The winning teams received game prizes presented by Mr Dennis Sevenstiar from Ah Yen Parquest Work Sdn Bhd.
The Performing Arts Club added a special touch to the day with Jin Ru’s piano solo and a dance duo performance by Slyvia and Christine. The highlight came during the Christmas gift-giving session led by Mr. Rahula, where heartfelt thanks were extended to First City University College’s staff for generously contributing the Christmas gifts, snacks, handmade keychains, and other First City University College merchandise.
As part of the programme for the afternoon, the representatives of Sweet Care Home received a generous donation of RM2,000 contributed by Azakti Energy Sdn Bhd, Ah Yen Parquest Work Sdn Bhd and Radius Arts & Crafts.
To wrap up the celebration, a light refreshment session featuring Christmas-themed packed food from AVANTE HOTEL and a delightful Baskin Robbins ice-cream break, prepared by the committee members, brought the event to a heartwarming conclusion. A special thanks to everyone who made this celebration a success, spreading joy and creating lasting memories
