2013	Received invitation from the Ministry of Higher Education to be elevated to University College status Construction of First City University College Phase II Campus commenced
2012	Signed Memorandum of Agreement with the Hotel & Tourism Management Institute Switzerland
2011	Rated 5-Star under MyQUEST (Malaysian Quality Evaluation System), Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia
2010	Signed Memorandum of Agreement with Anglia Ruskin University, UK
2005	Received the “Excellence in Student Internationalisation Award” from the Ministry of Education, Malaysia
2004	Awarded ISO 9001:2000 by Independent European Certification Limited for the provision of Library Services Signed Memorandum of Agreement with Sheffield Hallam University, UK Signed Memorandum of Understanding with the Curriculum Council, Government of Western Australia
2003	Launched the new crest for KBU International College Received the “Special Award” for Outstanding Academic Performance by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia Received approval from the Ministry of Education, Malaysia to conduct the Carl Duisberg Centren (CDC) German Language programme
2002	Renamed and rebranded as KBU International College
2001	Received the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) accreditation for two Engineering Honours Degree programmes – The first and only private college to receive the accreditation
2000	Awarded the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) status Granted accreditation by Lembaga Akreditasi Negara (National Accreditation Board, Malaysia) for Engineering Honour Degree programmes – The first and only private college in Malaysia to be granted this accreditation
1998	Received approval from the Ministry of Education, Malaysia to conduct franchised UK honours degree programme under the ‘3+0’ mode
1997	Received the approval to be registered as a centre for Business Technology Education Council UK (BTEC) – the first in Malaysia
1995	Relocated to the new campus in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya
1993	Renamed as Kolej Bandar Utama (KBU) KBU new campus construction commenced in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya
1992	Signed Memorandum of Agreement with The London Institute
1991	Signed Memorandum of Understanding with Nottingham Polytechnic, UK (Upgraded to Nottingham Trent University, UK in 1992)
1990	Founded as Kolej Swasta Bandar Utama (KSBU) by the Late Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr) Teo Soo Cheng Kolej Swasta Bandar Utama (KSBU) commenced operation at Damansara Utama, Petaling Jaya
