ADVANCING ACADEMIC STANDARDS FOR THE BACHELOR OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING WITH HONOURS PROGRAMME

The External Examiner Meeting convened on 29 January 2024 at the Faculty of Engineering & Computing underscored an unwavering commitment to elevating academic standards and promoting ongoing progress within the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours Programme.

Led by the Programme Coordinator, Ir.Ts. Sukhairul Nizam bin Abdul Razak, the event commenced with an in-depth presentation on the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering programme where the session also covered various facets including the university’s background, faculty expertise, programme structure, and ongoing quality enhancement initiatives.

Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Kok Chee Kuang, the external examiner, conducted private sessions with academic staff members, students, and representatives from the library, student services, and registry. An integral aspect of the visit involved an exclusive dialogue with students, ensuring a comprehensive grasp of their academic journey.

The tour of Mechanical Laboratories, Library, Student Services Department, and Registry emphasized the commitment to providing top-tier facilities and services. Engagements with key personnel such as the Chief Librarian and Head of Student Services Department further demonstrated a dedication to supporting students and ensuring resource accessibility.
