Behind the Product: Industry Learning at Skechers Malaysia

On 14 August 2026, lecturers visited Leong Luo Suen during her internship at Skechers Malaysia Sdn Bhd, where her placement was giving her a behind-the-scenes perspective on product development within the fashion and footwear industry.

Her internship experience includes checking samples and measurements, arranging samples and assisting with fittings within the Product Development Department. Through these real-world responsibilities, she is discovering how attention to detail, organisation, communication and teamwork contribute to the product development process — practical industry learning that helps prepare students for the expectations of professional practice.
