On 5 September 2024, the BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design programme held its Design Review & Assessment for the June to September semester intake. The event, held from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, saw participation from 70 students and 14 lecturers, along with 10 invited external assessors from the interior design industry.

The Design Review is a key component of the programme’s accreditation process by the Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM), ensuring that students and staff remain aligned with industry standards. The invited professionals, who represented leading names in the field, shared their knowledge on the latest trends, materials, and finishes, providing an invaluable learning opportunity for both students and lecturers.

Throughout the day, the invited external assessors offered detailed feedback on the students’ work, guiding them through the complexities of their design projects. The assessors shared expert insights on design direction and outcomes, encouraging students to further enhance their creativity and technical skills. This collaborative exchange of ideas between professionals, lecturers, and students ignited a passion for innovation within the Interior Architecture & Design community.

The BIAD Design Review & Assessment 2024 provided valuable exposure to industry trends and fostered an environment of growth, where students were inspired to elevate their design thinking and expertise. This event underscored the programme’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of interior designers ready to tackle the challenges of the modern world.
