Business Intelligence Competition Strengthens Students’ Data Analytics and Presentation Skills

The Faculty of Computer Science and Technology organised the Business Intelligence Competition 2026 on 13 May 2026 at First City University College, providing students with the opportunity to apply analytical and data visualisation skills in a competitive environment.
Students from Foundation, Diploma, and Degree programmes in Computing worked in teams to analyse banking and logistics datasets using Power BI, presenting interactive dashboards, insights, and recommendations to a panel of judges. The competition challenged students to strengthen their analytical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and presentation abilities while gaining hands-on experience in business intelligence tools and data-driven decision-making.
Students shared that the experience enhanced their confidence in presenting, improved collaboration skills, and provided valuable exposure to real-world data analysis and business environments.
The competition reflects the university’s commitment to experiential learning and industry-relevant education, supporting the development of future-ready graduates equipped with practical digital and analytical competencies.
