On 19 October 2024, 40 students participated in the MIID Students Saturday event at Taylor’s University.
The event featured a series of design competitions, including the Hikayat Performance, Bizpod Design, Graffiti Competition, and diverse Design Competitions across various categories.

Several students were awarded for their achievements, with Gui Zhi Xiang, Lim Yann Shen, Yu Jing Ling, Ooi Qi Earn, Lok Yik Ming, Lee Kok Zhen, Tey Winnie, Lim Tong Earn, Ling Kai Xin and Eunice Chua, receiving an Honorary Mention in the Hikayat Performance, while Yap Jet Yee, Siao Yu En, and Soo Yee Jing earned an Honourable Mention in the Bizpod Design Competition.

The Design Competition featured both Diploma and Degree categories, with students excelling across several disciplines. In the Diploma categories, Ooi Qi Earn received an Honorary Mention in the Residential Category, while Chau Zi Xuan took 2nd place in the Office Category. Justina Lee Yi earned 3rd place in the Integrated Category, and Lee Chai Xuan secured 2nd place, with Lee Hai Thang taking 3rd place in the Commercial Category. In the Degree categories, Eunice Chua received an Honourary Mention in the Habitat Design Category.

The recognition received by the participants reflects their dedication and hard work, as well as the comprehensive training, knowledge, and skills they gained at First City University College. As they continue to grow and refine their skills, these students will certainly make significant contributions to the design industry in the future.
