Deepavali Festival of Lights 2025 Celebration at First City University College


First City University College marked the Deepavali Festival of Lights on 31 October 2025 with a lively cultural celebration at the campus cafeteria. Jointly organised by the Student Services Department and the Library Department, and supported by the Student Council.
Participants enjoyed a series of engaging activities, beginning with a Rangoli-making session involving VIPs and staff, symbolising unity and good fortune. A traditional Indian buffet lunch added to the festive spirit, complemented by a captivating classical dance performance by Lhavanya A/P Ramu from the Diploma in Business Administration.
The mini bazaar further enriched the atmosphere with muruku, pani puri, and henna art. The Traditional Best Dressed Walkway featured many standout participants, with staff winners Ms. Komlavathi and Ms. Soon Tet Suan, Grace, and student winners Goh En Qi and Lhavanya A or P Ramu.
The celebration concluded with a spirited Karaoke and Open Mic session that even saw an impromptu Indian dance performance by Ms. Komlavathi and Asst. Prof. Ir. Dr. Marcus Tay Ching En, delighting the crowd. The event closed on a warm note, leaving attendees with a deeper sense of cultural understanding and community connection.
