ENGINEERING ACCREDITATION COUNCIL CONDUCTS CONTINUING VISIT FOR QUALITY ENHANCEMENT


On 15 October 2025, the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC), in collaboration with First City University College, conducted a continuing visit for the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Honours programme. The visit, led by panel member Ir. Dr. Tan Yong Chai, focused on addressing prior concerns in line with EAC requirements and identifying good practices for continual quality improvement.
During the meeting, the external examiner, industry advisory panels, students, alumni, employers, academic staff, and technical and administrative staff provided comprehensive interviews and discussions. These highlighted the faculty’s commitment to maintaining high standards in engineering education and fostering continual programme enhancement.
According to the EAC, “The Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) is the body delegated by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) for accreditation of engineering degree programmes. Since its establishment, the EAC has ensured that through the accreditation process, the qualities of graduates of accredited programmes are enhanced.”
The visit reinforced the importance of collaboration among faculty, students, alumni, and industry partners in achieving excellence in engineering education and preparing graduates to meet national and global standards.
