Exploring AI for Real-World Impact

First City University College recently hosted a Continuing Professional Development Talk titled “Unleashing the Creative Use of AI for Productivity” in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM). Held on 25th June 2025, the session was led by AI and sales strategy expert Mr. David Hooi.

Mr. Hooi introduced a wide range of AI tools including ChatGPT, Claude AI, MidJourney, Leonardo AI, Runway, Luma, and Heygen. Through live demonstrations and practical examples, he highlighted how these tools can be used to boost productivity across marketing, education, business, and creative design. Participants were particularly engaged during the segments on prompt engineering and content automation, which showed how AI can support real-world tasks with speed and creativity.

The talk received strong positive feedback for being both inspiring and actionable. “I never knew AI could help so much with design and content creation. This talk opened up so many possibilities for my assignments and future career,” shared student Gabriella Fauzia from the Foundation in Business Administration programme.

The event concluded with students gaining practical strategies to integrate AI tools like ChatGPT, MidJourney, and Runway into their academic work and creative projects. They left with a clearer understanding of how AI can enhance productivity, support real-world tasks, and elevate content creation.
