On 3 July 2024, postgraduate students and staff from the Faculty of Design & Build Environment had the unique opportunity to visit Mimos Berhad’s Big Data Analytic, Digital Government Lab. This visit aimed to deepen their understanding of industrial design and digital technology.

The event featured presentations from three distinguished designers. Saharudin Busri, the Head of Industrial Design at Mimos Berhad, and Mohd Nizam Najmuddin, a Senior Industrial Designer at the company, shared their expertise on the general concept of industrial design. They also provided a demonstration and discussion on user-experience in digital design technology. Hazmi Zaki, the UI/UX Manager at Mimos, gave insights into Mimos UI/UX practices.

During the visit, participants obtained knowledge about Mimos Berhad’s significant contributions to Malaysia’s socio-economic growth. The company’s patentable technology platforms, products, and solutions play a crucial role in advancing government services, business operations, healthcare, public safety, and environmental initiatives. Mimos Berhad is also recognized for empowering local industries to thrive in the digital economy through its innovative technologies.

Mr. Muhammad Sayyiddin Bin Maasah, a lecturer, reflected on the event, saying, “The technology is coming our way; we just need to utilize it.”
