FIRST CITY UNIVERSITY COLLEGE CELEBRATED STUDENT EXCELLENCE AT THE 2025 STUDENT AWARDS CEREMONY

On 26th February 2025, First City University College celebrated student achievements at the 2025 Student Awards Ceremony in First City Hall. The event recognised excellence in academics, industry competitions, and contributions that enrich the university’s community.

This year, students were honoured for achievements, including industry competition wins, prestigious study awards, completion of Foundation studies, and Dean’s List recognition for the 2024 Semester Examinations. These awards highlight dedication, perseverance, and talent.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Saw Sor Heoh congratulated students, emphasising that their accomplishments reflect commitment, innovation, and excellence. The ceremony was even more meaningful as it coincided with 35 Years of Excellence, reinforcing First City University College’s legacy.

Award recipient Tong Kar Chun from the Faculty of Business, Hospitality, and Communication shared, “Receiving the Dean’s List Award was a proud moment. It reflects my hard work and dedication.” Similarly, Man Yuen Thung from the Faculty of Design and Built Environment, who also received the Dean’s List Award, said, “To maintain good performance, I create weekly to-do lists to track progress and stay organised.”

Reflecting on his achievement, Goh En Qi shared, “Being named the best student in foundation studies was a proud moment for me. Receiving the Sin Chew Daily Education Fund 2024 and the 2024 Dean’s List Award for my Bachelor of Computer Science (Intelligent Systems) (Hons) further motivates me to strive for excellence in my degree programme.”

The 2025 Student Awards Ceremony honoured the hard work, talent, and determination of First City University College students. It recognised achievements while reaffirming the institution’s commitment to nurturing future leaders, innovators, and changemakers. As recipients received their awards, they carried with them recognition of their efforts and the drive to reach greater heights.
