First City University College Students Earn Double Bronze at DIGITEX 2026

On 15 June 2026, students from the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology showcased their innovation and technical expertise at DIGITEX 2026 – Digital Innovation & Technology Exhibition, organised by the Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). Competing alongside participants from universities, polytechnics, and other institutions, two First City University College teams earned Bronze Medals for their innovative technology solutions.

The award-winning projects included KeepItSafe, a secure offline desktop password manager designed to enhance cybersecurity through local encryption, and SmartGuard, an Internet of Things (IoT)-based home monitoring and security system that combines automated monitoring with real-time alerts. Both projects demonstrated strong technical knowledge, innovation, and real-world applicability.

Students shared that participating in DIGITEX 2026 strengthened their confidence, enhanced their project presentation skills, and provided valuable exposure to industry expectations and emerging technologies. The achievement reflects First City University College’s commitment to nurturing innovative, industry-ready graduates who can apply their knowledge to solve real-world challenges and contribute to the future of digital technology.
