FIRST CITY UNIVERSITY COLLEGE SWEEPS TOP AWARDS AT INTERNATIONAL FOOTWEAR DESIGN COMPETITION


First City University College made a strong showing at the Malaysia International Shoe Festival (MISF) 2025, held on 25 July at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Represented by five students and three lecturers from the Faculty of Design and Built Environment, the group participated in a day filled with competitions, industry talks, and networking alongside local and international footwear professionals.
At the International Footwear Design Competition (IFDC), First City University College swept the top three prizes in the Children’s Shoes category. Final-year student Blair Lim Hui Enn took first place and RM3,000, with her award accepted by Ms. Yvonne Ou as Blair was away on internship. Lecturer Ms. Soon Tet Suan Grace secured both second and third place, winning RM2,000 and RM1,000 respectively. “The last time I participated was in 2016. I can’t believe I won two prizes this year, and I’m even prouder of Blair for taking first,” she shared.
The competition showcased First City’s creative strength and affirmed its position in the international design landscape.
